Homeopathy Course Resources

Online Course

- Resources Page

Here you will find some resources to explore & support your learning journey if you’d like to go deeper in any area.

None of the books & remedy kits I mention below are required as part of the course.

Remember the homeopathic principle ‘less is more’ - a few good books that you refer to regularly will serve you better than a few hundred sitting on your bookshelf!

Supplies Of Remedy Kits & Individual Remedies

For those of you who have, or would like to have a home remedy kit to support you & your family.

You can find various kits online - I recommend any of the ones below if you’re just starting out. Or you can just purchase individual remedies as you need them and build up your own home-pharmacy - there are some versatile storage options available from https://www.hsconline.co.uk . If stored properly, the remedies will last you a lifetime and have many uses.

UK

Helios Pharmacy has a basic 18 remedy kit that can be ordered online, and a more comprehensive 36 remedy kit (the latter you can only order by phone directly from the pharmacy if you’re within the UK Tel +44-1892 537254).

Ainsworths Pharmacy has a 42 remedy kit which you can only order by phone within the UK - Tel +44 (0)1883 340 332.

USA

Hahnemann Labs has a 35 remedy kit and a more comprehensive version.

Homeopathic Educational Services has a 50 remedy kit available in the USA and Canada.

Europe

HomoEmpatia has a good supply of remedies for customers in the E.U.

Narayana also has a good range of books, remedies and kits

Some Recommended Books

I can highly recommend this book by Trevor Gunn for anyone who would like a deeper & more holistic understanding of health & disease. Trevor’s book very much reinforces what I am sharing with you on the course - his work is all about empowering people to have a better understanding of health and thereby make better choices.

Impossible Cure by Amy Lansky is a real eye-opener in terms of what homeopathy can do in seemingly hopeless cases, including her own son’s miraculous recovery from autism. Also has information on successful trials showing the efficacy of homeopathy in various conditions.

There are literally thousands of homeopathic books available, and every homeopath has their favourites! I can only suggest a few here and recommend that you follow your own interest and intuition. Many good homeopathic books can be purchased second hand at low cost.

Homeopathic books fall into a number of general categories, as listed below:

First Aid & Home Prescribing

These are some recommended handbooks to use in the home alongside a remedy kit - there are many others available also.

Therapeutics Books

These are practical quick-reference guides to help you find the most commonly used remedies for a specific health problem. There are many thousands of these types of books available - just search under the illness or general category you are interested in e.g. “homeopathy + dentistry” or “homeopathy + horses” etc etc. I’ve just listed a few examples below.

Materia Medicas

These are comprehensive reference books containing the detailed remedy pictures. They are the primary source of information for studying homeopathic remedies and are essential ‘tools of the trade’ for all professional practitioners and serious home prescribers.. As you’ll see from the examples below, some of these are heavy-duty volumes containing the accumulated wisdom and clinical experience of generations of homeopaths. These books are constantly being updated as new remedies are added - the good news is you can pick up an older version relatively cheaply and it will still serve you well.

Repertory

A repertory is basically a comprehensive symptom-index that enables you to find all the remedies that might be indicated for a particular symptom or condition. Not generally needed for home prescribing but essential for practitioners. (See online books & repertories below). If you do decide to buy one, I recommend Murphy’s (below). As with material medical, you can pick up older, cheaper versions of his repertory, they’re still very useful but will contain fewer remedies & references - these books are constantly being updated to reflect new findings.

Philosophy & Practice

These are books that help you to deepen your understanding of different aspects of homeopathic philosophy and its practical applications. There are many of these - I’ve just included a few of my personal favourites (not that I’m biased).

Online Books & Repertories

Because a lot of older homeopathic books are now out of copyright, they are legally available for free online. They might be old, but many are still as relevant today as when they were first written.

See: http://www.homeoint.org/english/index.htm to access a staggering range of books and articles, all for free!

You can download a very comprehensive free repertory at: https://www.completedynamics.com - the caveat is, you have to pay to unlock the full functionality of the repertory, but it’s a reasonable cost, and still very useful even if you stick with the free version.

This site also has a more basic online repertory which is free to use for home prescribing https://abchomeopathy.com.
